Criteria

The Mainstream Print Sutton Coldfield Male Sports Personality of the Year

A man (aged 19 or over on 31st December 2013), who has achieved local, regional or national success or has made a big difference to a team.

The Sutton Coldfield Observer

 Female Sports Personality of the Year

A female (aged 19 or over on 31st December 2013), who has achieved local, regional or national success or has made a big difference to a team.

 

The Midland Supply Ltd Lifetime Achievement Award

Someone who has contributed significantly to sport in Sutton Coldfield during their lifetime.

The Mytime Golf

Volunteer of the Year

A volunteer (not a coach) who has made an outstanding contribution to local sport.

This could be an official, committee member, helper or anyone else who you feel deserves recognition for their dedication.

The Hydro Mechanical Services Coach of the Year Award

A coach, who holds a current, recognised National Governing Body coaching qualification.

A coach committed to delivering the highest standard of coaching to their performers and / or helping other coaches to develop.

The Green & Co  Club of the Year Award

A Club that has worked hard to encourage members of the community into their sport.

This could include specific achievements in any development area such as increased junior membership, disability sport etc.

The Sport Structures Senior Team of the Year Award

A successful Team (with members aged 19 or over on 31st December 2012) that has achieved success or completed at a consistently high level throughout the year.

The Vacuum & Atmosphere Services LTD Sportsperson of the Year with a Physical/Learning Disability

A performer, who has achieved local, regional or national success within their sport or has made a big difference to a team.

Junior Sports Personality of the Year Award

A Junior (18 or under on 31st December 2013), who has made progress over time, achieved much or made a big difference to a team.

The Gomm Insurance Junior Team of the Year Award

A successful team (with all members aged 18 or younger on 31st December 2013).

 

 

The Aspire Clewer Trophy for Primary School of the Year Award

A School that gives its’ pupils a wide range of activities to participate in, within a high quality physical education programme.

Engages their pupils in a variety of extra-curricular sport. (The school should show commitment to School-Club links).

Accesses high quality competitive opportunities at all levels of competition (Level 1 – Intra school, Level 2 – Inter school)

Dedicated to a Gifted & Talented Programme.

Provides opportunities for Sport Leaders and Community Volunteers to develop within and outside the school environment.

Shows a commitment to engaging the least active students in sport and physical activity. Ensures that KS1 students have high quality PE lessons to ensure they are physically literate by seven years old. (Applicable to combined junior/infant schools)

The Evans Secondary School of the Year Award

A School that gives its’ pupils a wide range of activities to participate in, within a high quality physical education programme.

Engages their pupils in a variety of extra-curricular sport. (The school should show commitment to School-Club links).

Accesses high quality competitive opportunities.

Dedicated to a Gifted & Talented Programme.

Provides opportunities for Sport Leaders and Community Volunteers to develop within and outside the school environment. Shows a commitment to engaging the least active children in sport and physical activity.

Provides the opportunity for a large percentage of their students to be involved in high quality competition at all levels (Level 1 – Intra school, Level 2 – Inter school)

 

The Veteran Sports Personality/Team of the Year

A performer or team, who has achieved local, regional or national success within their sport or has made a big difference to a team.

 

General Notes:

 

All individuals nominated must either reside in Sutton Coldfield or be involved with a Sutton Coldfield organisation.

 

All organisations nominated must be based in Sutton Coldfield.

 

Nominees for other categories (Lifetime Achievement Award, The Volunteer of the Year) will be assessed on all relevant achievements.
